To mark the milestone of the 40th annual James Connolly commemoration in Edinburgh this June, we are doing a special James Connolly 40 tour. This tour will blend sites of significance to Connolly’s time in Edinburgh with sites significant to the history of the Connolly commemoration over the last four decades.
The Connolly 40 tour is completely different from our classic James Connolly’s Edinburgh tour. It is specifically designed and we will only be doing this tour during the summer of 2026. It is perfect for people wanting to learn more about James Connolly and the struggle to commemorate him in the city of his birth.
These tours are led by Jim Slaven.
This tour lasts approximately two hours and begins and ends in the Old Town. The tour is organised in conjunction with the James Connolly Society, who organise the annual commemoration.
